Bandages are generally changed every 1-5 days so it is important to adhere to the instructions your veterinarian gives you.

A bandage or cast must be kept dry and clean at all times. Moisture can lead to skin irritation and infection. To avoid dampness, place a temporary plastic bag over the bandage until out of the rain. Never leave a plastic bag for longer than 30 minutes at a time.
It is important that you monitor your pet and bandage regularly.
